My daughter turned 4 around the time Disney's The Princess and The Frog was released. The bottom cake is a Norwegian marzipan recipe, with a big lily pad for the princess to stand on. The princess has a cake skirt covered with a marshmallow fondant dress.
My father-in-law shares a birthday with my daughter. He loves his Harley so I made him a small marzipan cake with the motorcycle topper and fondant flames on the sides.
Optimus Prime was Anthony's birthday cake last year. It took 4 cake mixes and was only the second fondant cake I had ever made. I took the extra cake and fondant to make little single-serving trucks for each of his friends who came to the party.
